Lubbock wedding venues

DoneLubbock Weddings 35518067_10212119280965012_7095528290751873024_n (1)Saying “I do” is just the beginning of the process of getting married and starting life together.  There are so many things that go into prepping for a marriage that it’s almost impossible to list them here.  From choosing cakes to settling on a specific date, getting married can be a serious stressor.  All of those perfectly chosen invitations going out to the perfect guest list and deciding on how you want your actual wedding ceremony to motor forward – I’ll never forget the almost overwhelming feelings of getting it all done.  (And when I got married, I was graduating from Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas and also planning a year long “honeymoon” in China with a young fiancee – not the smartest timing…)

Anyway, even though I could go into great detail about each piece of Lubbock wedding preparation, I want to spend just a brief time emphasizing one of the things that needs to be done at the very beginning – choosing a Lubbock wedding venue.  This has to be done early because while there are several quality Lubbock wedding venues, there are even more weddings being planned for the best of the venues to be booked on the date that you want.  You don’t want to get stuck in a less than beautiful venue because you waited too long to book your precious event.  (Trust me – my fiancee and I almost failed to secure the venue we wanted and it would have been tough on us emotionally to have to deal with a less than stellar location.)

I recommend that you start researching wedding venues via the Internet first – you can learn a lot by checking out wedding venue websites – you can see testimonials, reviews, rules and especially pictures that will get you to a short list of places that you might want to get married.  Of course, you will want to talk with friends and relatives who are familiar with Lubbock venues and get their opinions.  They can talk about their experiences – hopefully not horror stories – and help you start determining the best spots in town.  Finally, most of the best wedding venues invite you to come and take a tour of their grounds so that you can get a personal feel for what it might be like on your magical day.  Then once you decide on a place, you should book it as soon as possible.  Hopefully, they still have your chosen wedding date open – the earlier you book, the better to make this a probability.

Well, that’s my advice for now – Until next time, I hope he/she says “yes” when you ask for their hand and heart…If you have advice for anyone in the Lubbock area about this subject, please comment so we can have a list of the best venues in town.  Thanks.

Keeping your lawn green

As the famous saying goes, “The grass is always greener…” but in a lot of cases when it comes to our lawns, the green is not there at all.  And in Lubbock, where the temperatures and overall weather can vary in major ways – from super hot to super cold in the same week – it is key to work hard at a lot of different things so that the grass is greener on your side of the fence.  I’ve found that one of the main things that you have to have going for you so that this very thing happens is a working sprinkler system that can properly water your grass in every spot so that there are no brown patches or dead sections.  (Proper fertilization and professionals who can work on and consult on your lawn are key too.)  Since sprinkler systems are so important, one has to make sure that they are working right.

It’s easy to assume that when you set the watering schedule for your yard all of the sprinkler heads are working.  I know I certainly don’t watch my grass get watered and thus I wouldn’t know if I had any broken sprinkler heads (this can be the cause of a part of the lawn not getting watered and thus will result in those frustrating dead spots.)  So, I recommend to any of you out there who care about the condition of your lawn to watch your sprinkler system when it turns on and try to note if all of your sprinkler heads are working.  Actually, you might want to make sure that your entire sprinkler system is working.  Otherwise your brown yard might be the eyesore that causes angst on your block.

Anyway, if you do find that you need Lubbock sprinkler system repair or even just Lubbock sprinkler head repair, make it a priority to find a highly reputable local company who knows what they are doing.  There are plenty of them out there, but I recommend checking out websites and reviews to get the best idea of which company is the best.  I personally vouch for a group called Rainmaker Irrigation (www.wateringdryplaces.com) but you will have to do your own discovery.  I certainly don’t want to lead anyone astray on this issue.

Okay, that’s all I have for now.  I’d love to hear back from you as to which companies you have trusted in the past with your sprinkler system repairs and what you think of them.  Until then, happy watering and may your lawn be the greenest on the block!

Lubbock Commercial Cleaning

As an owner of a Lubbock business or I guess even as an employee who works in an office, you probably know that it is key to keep everything very clean so that you maintain the most professional reputation possible – no one wants their clients to experience an untidy or even dirty workplace bathroom.  That kind of thing can really destroy how your business is viewed and those views can become negative word of mouth very quickly.  Of course, everyone in the office can help to keep their spaces fairly clean during the week and can help to pick up in the restrooms, but I think it takes a cleaning contractor to do it properly.  In other words, it’s important to hire a Lubbock commercial cleaning company that is insured and bonded that can come in during the evenings and weekends and make everything look amazing – a company that you can trust with your office space – a company that has its own great reputation which will help you maintain yours.  I know I have been very judgmental of businesses that don’t pay out the extra money to hire this sort of company.  I can always tell which businesses use them and which ones don’t and I prefer to be a client of those that do – maybe I am just being picky, but I think that the way an office looks reflects how a business does all of its other business.

Anyway, I’m interested in hearing what you think about the above issue.  I’m also interested in  recommending one such cleaning company that has been doing incredible work with corporate clients for a long time.  Known as Professional Maintenance, Inc (pmlubbock.com), this group of trustworthy maintenance and janitorial people contract with businesses to take care of whatever needs they have as far as office cleaning.  And then, this group of workers comes in and takes care of everything.  And they make everything sparkle.  They don’t just do a  good job, they do a great job every time.  And you can count on them not to get slack as time goes on.  Every time they do their work, it’s fantastic and this is ensured by a maintenance overseer.  Professional Maintenance does not put up with sloppy work or lazy workers.

So, if you have a business and need your office space looking amazing every day, then I would say go with these folks.  I can’t speak from experience about any other commercial cleaning crew in the area, but I know from working with these guys that they will help you in your quest to not only impress clients, but also to clean to the point that illnesses aren’t hanging around in the office space.  It’s easy to spread germs daily with simple coughing and sneezing and that can lead to sick employees which leads to decreased efficiency.  This of course leads to a worse bottom line, which won’t be good for anyone.

Do you have experience with this company or any other cleaning companies in town?  I’d love to see your comments about whoever you have dealt with in the past.  Feel free to let them fly!
